This sculpture stands 10 meters tall (32 ft) and weights about 9000 kg (10 tons) and was erected in May, 1984. The inside of Mac is a metal pipe framework with a metal mesh conforming to the structure's contours. The entire body is covered with a cement coat. In 2007, Mac's jaw fell off due to exposure to the Saskatchewan elements.

Mac the giant moose was named after a local Alderman named Les McKenzie who championed the project.

How to get to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

On the TransCanada Highway (Hwy #1) look of the GIANT MOOSE MONUMENT on the south side of the highway. You can't miss it.
